De afgelopen jaren heeft de lasertherapie veel ontwikkelingen doorgemaakt wat heeft geleid tot vele innovaties in laserapparatuur en behandeltechnieken. Er wordt gewerkt met vier verschillende lasers: een Pulsed Dye laser, een Gentle Yag, Alexandrite-laser en een KTP-laser.
