Door veroudering, zwangerschappen, operaties, maar vooral door afvallen na overgewicht, treedt bij bijna ieder mens een verslapping op van de buikhuid, terwijl vaak ook de spieren van de buikwand verslappen. Er ontstaat dan een \u2018hangbuik\u2019 of een \u2018puilende buik\u2019.
