De HandScan, ontwikkeld door Hemics uit Eindhoven, laat ontsteking in gewrichten van polsen en vingers zien door middel van licht. Het onderzoek naar dit apparaat is inmiddels afgerond. Dit betekent dat de HandScan vanaf nu niet meer wordt gebruikt in het Regionaal Reumacentrum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmc.nl\/regionaalreumacentrum\/aandoeningen-en-behandelingen\/reumatoide-artritis\/\">Reumato\u00efde artritis<\/a> is een auto-immuunziekte waarbij gewrichtsontstekingen ontstaan. Ruim honderdduizend Nederlanders hebben met de aandoening te maken.\u00a0Bij deze pati\u00ebntengroep is regelmatig controle nodig om activiteit van de ziekte te bepalen en medicatie eventueel bij te stellen.<\/p>\n<p>Tot nu toe vond deze controle plaats door middel van een onderzoek dat pijnlijk kan zijn voor de pati\u00ebnt. Hierbij werden door de zorgverlener zelf zwellingen in de hand opgemeten en onderzocht. De afgelopen jaren is intensief onderzoek gedaan of de HandScan het normale onderzoek op termijn kan vervangen en of dit objectievere resultaten biedt. Het onderzoek hiernaar is inmiddels afgerond en de uitkomsten hiervan worden onderzocht. Hiermee wordt de HandScan vanaf nu niet meer gebruikt in het Regionaal Reumacentrum voor het onderzoek. Mede door de coronapandemie is de zorg veel veranderd en wordt er meer gekeken naar mogelijkheden voor zorg op afstand, met andere meetmethoden voor ziekteactiviteit.<\/p>\n<p>We willen alle reumapati\u00ebnten die de afgelopen jaren hebben bijgedragen aan het onderzoek hartelijk bedanken voor hun deelname.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>De afgelopen jaren heeft er in het Regionaal Reumacentrum van M\u00e1xima MC onderzoek plaatsgevonden met de HandScan.
