Prenatal screening
Prenatal screening is used to determine the risk of a congenital disorder.
There are three types of prenatal screening:
- NIPT
The NIPT involves taking blood samples for laboratory testing. We check whether the unborn child has a chromosomal abnormality, such as Down syndrome, Edwards’ syndrome or Patau syndrome. The test is performed when you are 11 weeks pregnant.
